About PRP Physio

PRP Physio opened in February 2020 in the office space available at The Lakes FC. It started from humble beginnings with minimal equipment and minimal financial backing (realistically it was a little bit of savings and my credit card!). I have loved operating as a small business owner and being able to provide services to the local area. I have grown and developed personally, as a physiotherapist, as a business owner during my time operating as a sole trader. I look forward to continuing to develop PRP Physio into the future to provide expert physiotherapy services to the North Brisbane region.

What is PRP Physio?

PRP Physio is a mobile physiotherapy clinic that operates mainly in North Brisbane, from Upper Caboolture to Bridgeman Downs. My service region extends out to the Redcliffe region and west to the Petrie region and surrounding suburbs. PRP Physio encapsulates three core pillars of the physiotherapy spectrum. Those are prevention, rehabilitation, and performance. All three pillars form a part of my treatment approach.
  • Prevention: Prevention is always better than a cure. Developing programs to prevent injuries should be the initial step to promote health for athletes, workers, and employers. Should an injury prevention program fail, and an athlete or a worker suffer an injury, I move them to the next stage of the PRP Physio process.
  • Rehabilitation: Recovering from an injury requires an individualised treatment approach encapsulating both hands on treatment and a tailored exercise program. At PRP Physio, I offer 45-minute consultations to give me extra time to get to know you, evaluate your presentation thoroughly, and provide hands on treatment. I tailor your rehabilitation plan to you, your goals, and your day-to-day requirements.
  • Performance: Physiotherapy should always aim to return a client back stronger, more mobile, more confident, and more robust than they were before their injury. This means that I should take the mindset of optimising any predisposing factors that could have contributed to your injury. Whether that be a reduction in strength, increased muscle tightness, or altered movement patterns. I will develop a program for you to continue after your rehabilitation has finished to continue to allow you to minimise your risk of recurrent episodes of the same injury.
  • Putting it all together: Physiotherapy isn’t just recipe treatments of hands on that I do for everyone, or basic exercise sheets with the same number of sets and reps for everyone. Every client is an individual and they should be treated as such. At PRP Physio, I aim to offer you a complete service that doesn’t just return you back to “normal”. My aim is to return you to a state that is more injury resistant, with an ongoing program in hand that you can continue to maximise the effects of your rehabilitation.

Why the funky shape in the logo?

I have had a few people ask me what the shape is in the logo and what it is all about. To be completely honest, I really don’t know what it is. The designer, With Intent, originally drew their inspiration from the knee joint, the meniscus, and the ACL. I have to admit that’s not what I saw when I was shown the first draft.

What I think it encapsulates is the fluid nature of physiotherapy, a sense of movement and progressing forwards. I like that many people see something different, because I believe many people see very different things from physiotherapy. One size does not fit all with physiotherapy treatments. Some clients may require a lot of hands on, and others may require little, but may need more movement enhancement, or more strengthening. Whatever you need, PRP Physio is adaptable and fluid to help meet your needs.

PRP Physio Core Values and Beliefs

PRP Physio as a business is built upon 7 enduring core values and beliefs. I hold myself to these values and use them to guide how I conduct myself as an individual and as an entity.

Great Relationships

Every interaction I have is with a unique individual, I will treat each interaction with the utmost respect and care. I believe that without great relationships, I cannot build a great business to serve the community.

Great Service

The crux of my business depends upon great service, without great service I cannot successfully impact the community on the scale I desire. I will always stay abreast of the latest techniques and research to ensure you are receiving optimised care.

Friends First

I will treat all our interactions with the utmost professionalism, but I will always aim to develop a relationship with you as a person, you are not defined by your injury. I will develop a relationship with you as a person at the same time as providing superior service.

Receptive to Innovation

I will remain receptive to new concepts and ways of doing things regardless of where or who the idea comes from. I recognise that the community will often provide the greatest source of innovation and progress.

Community Service

My work is often provided on a 1-to-1 basis, but my underlying goal is to provide a positive contribution to society at large by promoting healthy and active lifestyles.

I Welcome all Questions

Whether it be a question of my services or how I handle my business, questions are always recommended. I believe in radical transparency with my business and service, and I highly value well-informed interactions.

Profit comes Second

All great businesses require profits to succeed, however, I believe profits are not the main goal of my company. Servicing the community to the greatest extent possible comes first, which will flow into a profitable company.

Where is PRP Physio going in the future?

I’d honestly love to know! The future is unpredictable, and I unexpectedly found myself in the mobile physiotherapy field. My initial plan was to open a gym space with Dave Berry and Reggie Heywood by the end of 2020.

What I am confident about is that I will still work with local sporting clubs such as North Lakes United, Caboolture Sports FC, North Lakes Leopards. The joy that working with these communities has given me and continues to give me is irreplaceable.

I hope I will still work as a mobile physiotherapist; I enjoy it and I genuinely believe it is significantly more beneficial for clients than clinics. The flexibility it offers my clients, along with the more relaxed nature of this approach, allows for more freedom within my consultations. My goal is to continue working in this region, improving the lives of those with acute injuries or persistent pain.
